About this Iron Nest calculator

Free, unofficial ballistic calculator for IRON NEST: Heavy Turret Simulator. Enter azimuth, distance and powder charges and get the exact gun elevation using the in-game formula (12° per km per charge, 5 km of range per charge, 30 km max). Shot cards for both guns, fully keyboard-driven, and everything stays in your browser.

How to use it

  1. Enter the azimuth to the target and the distance in kilometers read from the map.
  2. Pick the powder charges or leave AUTO: the tool suggests the lowest charge that reaches the target.
  3. Read the required elevation and log the shot on gun 1 or gun 2. Cards can be dragged between guns and each volley is kept in the history.

The in-game formula

Elevation in degrees equals the distance in meters times 0.012 divided by the number of charges, capped at 60°. Each charge adds 5 km of reach: one charge covers 5 km and six charges cover 30 km. Anything beyond 30 km is out of range. The round type (HE, AP, DRIL, STAR, EMPT) is recorded on the shot card and does not change the elevation.

Keyboard

Enter advances and logs · Tab moves through all controls · Q/E or ←/→ change the charge · Ctrl/⌘+Z undoes the last shot · R resets and saves the volley · C switches the target gun.

FAQ

How does the Iron Nest ballistic calculator work?
It uses the in-game ballistic model: elevation in degrees equals distance in meters times 0.012 divided by the number of powder charges, capped at 60 degrees. Each charge extends maximum range by 5 km, up to 30 km with six charges. The tool always suggests the lowest charge that reaches the target.
Is this an official IRON NEST tool?
No. This is an unofficial, free, fan-made companion tool. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the developers of IRON NEST: Heavy Turret Simulator.
